As driftwood? Me and a buddy went down to the lake and was looking around. I came across these two pieces. I do not know what type of wood it is, I do know that the darker piece was HEAVY to carry back to the truck, but since cutting it down, it has reduced the weight tremendously. So could either of these pieces be used?

I would use the second piece before the stump. the stump really isn't that branchy and I would worry how long it would take to make it ready to put in a tank. Cleaning either of those will suck. Hope you got a good power washer.

Thanks.....I'm going to head to the car wash (singing song) after work and hit them with the pressure wash to help break the lose stuff off of it. Then it will get put in the rubbermaid tubs with some scalding water and let to sit until it no long floats.

Now what was the trick gangsters used back in the 20's and 30's to keep bodies from floating in the Hudson River???

Not a good idea. with the soaps and wax that run through the same lines. A clean wire brush and a garden hose will work just as good.

That I'll do.

If anyone else is interested in the BIG piece. Hit me up and I'll only charge you shipping. It is too big for my lil 150

I've done this before and it took me 2 months to get it 3/4 water logged. I finally attached it to a piece of slate and used reef putty to weigh it down by attaching them to the slate.. looks good though.
