I've been working my @$$ of for the past week to setup a 37 gallon tank for my pair of Cryptoheros cutteri so I have room in my 75 for fish I plan on getting Friday and/or Saturday. Well I personally think the stand is fine but my mom doesn't like the tiny rusty spots in it since it's an old stand so I have to sand it all down, prime it, and repaint it before I can setup the tank since he stand is the only thing I can put it on. Just another "perk" of being a teen hobbyist :).

The fish I'm getting Friday and Saturday are from my Local fish club monthly auction and a collecting trip they're doing on Saturday which is once a year not to mention I won't be able to go to any more meetings until September.

It'll be at least a week before I can completely setup and get ready the tank for the pair but they're so aggressive I don't want anything else in my 75 until they're moved out so here's my idea.

I have the cutteri fry in a 20 tall (24" x 12" x 16") as a growout so could I even for just a week or less put the pair in the tank with the fry? I'd be sure to keep up on tons of water changes until I move them out into their new 37. Only thing I worry about is they haven't seen the fry for so long (other than the 4 they cohabitate with in the 75 that are much bulkier than the other ones) that I fear they may kill/eat the other fry.

So could that work as a temporary tank for them?

It's possible temporarily. You may lose some fry, but you could even in a larger tank. I've done this w/ HRP.
Good luck.

Alright thanks man, that really helps me :). I don't mind of I loose a fry or two considering I can't find any LFSs that will even take them now, they may wind up as feeders eventually if I can't find someone to take them.
