Hello.
Just wondering, are frontosa compatible with arowana?
Just wondering as I'm setting up a 180 in a couple months and will be putting a silver arowana in it to growout and was just going to put 3 tinfoil barbs with it and probably an endli or two.

So, my question is, Instead of the tinfoils and endli's, could I keep a few fronts with the aro?
I was thinking of Mpibwe fronts?

I think the difference in water requirements would present a problem.

x2 and i just think africans should be with africans, most are picky enough to keep the same lake and others are even pickier going with either peacock, hap, mbuba

If you can get the pH to 7.5 and have the aro ok, the front should do fine. amazingly, they are fairly tolerant

7.5 is far to low for a front to be healthy. Ideally you want 9.0-9.4

Well, at one of the LFS they have a 100 gallon with all there african cichlids for sale, including fronts along with three 5'' arowanas. The arowanas look great, swimming about good size.

So, I MIGHT try it. Not saying I'm going to, but i may have to try someday.
Dont know when that someday will be, but I think it would look pretty interesting as a combo.

If you do decide to try it let us know how it works

I've seen the two fish together in the same tank and they did fine.

Then again, this was a VERY MASSIVE freshwater tank at Big Al's Aquarium Superstore.
The tank's dimensions were about 15'x4'x7'
