Yes, you can! It sounds like a great plan. And don't let any of these "Fin heads" tell you it can't work. I use the term, "Fin Heads" because I recently read several threads from many people on this site not ever going away to take a vacation because of fear of leaving their fish unattended. This is a hobby, not a lifestyle.

What's the dimensions of the 265?

lol lol lol:grinyes:

All sounds good minus the silver aro. I also don't like mixing bichirs with rays because of food competition but others seem to like the combo. Retics are hard to get acclimated especially if you buy them small so have your tank good a cycled before you add them.

Some take this hobby alot more seriously than others. Just becuase you dont, you dont have to go bashing other ppl. Besides, if you had a fish worth a couple thousand bucks, would you be going on vacation with ease at mind?

Anyways, silver aro will outgrow your 150 in about a year a 2-3 months. And like turkeyboy said, if your retics are already breeding, they're probably too big for a tank 18" wide.

it will work for a small amount of time. Silver may get too big. 265 should b fine for everyone else. take everything with a grain of salt.

not 100% on dimensions, at the moment the tank is imaginary. I am looking to invest about 800 into it so i figured a used 265 with stand should be around that.

The Retics are being sold at a LFS as "teacup stingrays" around 5" disc, figured i could grab a male and female and grow them out. :)

So, an arrow would outgrow a 265 :(? What would i need to keep one of these guys comfortably with all the others? Would the bichirs bully the rays? Figured they were kind of passive... What if i monitored and hand fed everyone?
