My CK had a serious case of fin rot a few months ago and he's been in a hospital tank since, I figured he was doing really well yesterday just a few spots of fin to grow back which weren't really serious, not a big deal yeah?
I found it on it's side this morning with the fins getting eat up again, moved him back to the hospital tank with antibiotics and sea salt, it still can't seem to keep itself upright.
Any ideas how to keep it from flipping around? I don't think I can stay sitting there holding it all day :(

usually fin rot is caused due to high levels of stress
and if hwile the fish has still not recovered completely is stressed again can cause much more agressive fin rot
and why are you using sea salt the regular salt or aquarium salt would be much better

right now the best medicine is tetracyclin
with rigorous water changes every 2 days or so
and a temp of 29C
and regarding keeping him upright i can't help you with that one sorry, but i think its best if you let it be by itself as it will cause him much less stress

hope this helps

I'm using aquarium salt
and thanks for all the help :) I hope he makes it, I feel utterly stupid :nilly:

u are welcome
by the way when you do water changes do add the amount of tetracyclin removed along with water

i dose at 20 500mg capsules for a 15g
and do 50% water changes every third day and add one capsule to replenish the tetracyclin lost
