I finally got my new (to me) 90 gallon set up in the family room. We checked out the subflooring, and everything looks good to go.

However, idiot that I am, I only just realized last night that our band plays in the basement directly under the tank. It never crossed my mind until we actually had practice.

Do you think this will be an issue?

I wouldn't worry about it. Worst case scenario add some insulation and soundboard. Or acoustical duct liner...

Dude, are you that bad?:ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

Now that would be cool.
Trying different rhythms and volumes and seeing it there is any reaction from the fish.

fish like any "animal" will get spooked by things they are not use to.. once they get use to your band playing they will get use to it.. however dont be suprised if the first few times they a bit nuts..... make sure your lids are on so no one gets out..

insulating the basement with some sound deadning material will cut the noise/vibration and not bother your fish so much.. not to mention everything that lives around you will hate you less..

the blanket section at goodwill is a good place to cheap sound deadning material (aka blankets and lots of them).. a staple gun will work for a single layer buy a few screws with washers will hold up a lot more blankets...

I don't think you have to worry, my parents own a fullout kareoke system that can support a concert hall, and my tank is right beside it. When I put my hand on the glass of aquarium i can feel it shake, but my fish don't seem to mind.

Also, not a dude. :)
lol, i was pulling your leg.
My 180Gl is next to one of my speakers and I got a 400W subwoofer.
Can't do without that, if you're listening to Dubstep and Drum'n'Bass.:D
But the fish never get spooked or even reakt if the music is loud!
guess they're used to it from day one.
What style do you and the band play?
