could you keep a Buttikoferi with jags and a red devil i know that one is from africa and the others america i was just wondering cos they are all real nasty and thought they may be able to handle it

That doesn't sound too safe. I wouldn't even keep Red Devil's with Jags simply because both are powerhouses and could do serious damage to each other.

It all depends on tank size. Certain sizes yes, certain sizes no..

Im doing it for now, but not forever. jag and a butti in teh same tank. They are both small and young though.

Anything is possible. I aggree with members here that the tank size plays big role as well as fish temperment. Possible tank rearrangement or removal and reintroduction of cichlids to and from the tank may help.

You can keep any fish with any fish it just depends on the fish's personality.

I gree with most of the responces I think it could work but alot has to do with tank size and each fishes temperment

if over 125 gallons, butter can possibly live with jag, but most red devils i've seen are mild.
