IN YOUR HEAD
this morning my young black died...it still had the stomach swelling from awhile ago...prazi pro reduced it some, but it just came back even with continued treatment...i seperated it from my silver last night, by moving my silver and not the sick/stressed black...after removing the silver the black started to be much more active as the silver was the dominant of the 2...the this morning floating vertical on the bottom with its head up...there was some splashing last night so it could have jumped and hit its head, but i think the cause was from the stomach infection...the aro was 6" on the final check...

Lousy to hear that, do you think the silver aro was stressing it out and keeping the problem from getting better?

no it wasn't as i have been sleeping in the livingroom with the tanks, due to moving prep and i have had the lights on 24/7 due to a balis breaking...i have been able to watch them almost constant...the silver stayed behind the root ball of my hydrophonics pothos and the black stayed at the other end...i even have checked on them in the night cause i am sleeping on a sweaty airmatress for now right infront of the tank, so about every hour i wake up in sweat and look at the tank to check...when i looked last night i didn't see the black at about 5am, but i just thought it was behind the root ball, but that was a part of my lungfish that i saw...as it was still there when i found the aro dead at around 7:30am...yesterday at feeding the silver went at the black and tore some fins so i moved the silver...that has been the only time it has had shredded fins since regrowing its tail...the attack that took out the tail was when it was 4-5"...

i've been tring to get the wife to agree to get one, but she is resisting...they have a pair of 14" africans at the lfs eatting pellets and anything they put in the tank for $135...she just wont go for it...more so now after losing this $130 fish...i have been thinking about using my orino sale to get more gar, but i may just get an afro...

Well, african arowana are one of the BEST tank-mates for gar. That's also a great price for a 14" one that is already past the fragile younger stage. I paid 150 plus shipping for mine when it was 13" and some people consider that a steal.

I say grab one, you won't regret it. They comm with pretty much any monster you'll have.

Tell your wife that I've lost 2,000 dollar stingrays and all you can do is learn from your mistakes and keep going in this awesome hobby.

i may just do that...i have been tossing back and forth on it...i really really want more gar, but at the same time i might not find an afro this cheap again...
