well, my last pbass venture ened with a pbass in the stocmach of an ornate bichir :grinno:

it was discourgaing, but today i walked into my trust local lfs and they pointed in the direction of a new shipment of "ocelatis pbass" for $6.99 each, and after my frequent customer discount it it was only $5 eachlol. it was mostly tems and a couple of occels/monos. i picked up 2 tems and a occel :) this time im gonna bulk them up in the little communtoy tank, let them chow down on the tetras and hatchets before moving them to the 100 gallon :)

so theyre gonna go in the 100 gallon (60x18x22) untill about 10 inches, then ill either sell them on here about the same time as my gar, let the lfs sell them out (they regualry take in large pbass and arows and they sell like gold), or ill upgrade, whichever is more feeseable at the time...i know its irresponsible but hey, weve all got to give in our impulses sometimes :)

lol, ya, im roedoing that tank after pbass move to the 100, might try some saltwater:nilly:

they made pretty short work of the tetras :) gonna see if they take some shrimp and bloodworms tonight....

nothing irresponsible there, you have it all planned out. I'd luv to walk in and see small Tems, I'd buy em all...

If you want them to grow quick... I'd feed live...

I got some tiny less than one inch pbass (smallest I've ever had) and I've been feeding them bloodworms three times a day and they just aren't growing... grrrr... I can't wait till they can take guppies and I can put some size on them! Also shrimp doesn't seem to have enough nutrients that young cichla crave... Id try to mix in some live when ever you can.... your fish, you can do what you want though! :)

Good luck with them!

Sweet find!!
I agree I tried not to give my P.bass mainly shrimp but thats mainly what he wound up eating anyway because anytime he saw something he thought might even possibly be a feeder it was back to step one on trying to get him to accept shrimp again.

ya, i just dont trust the lfs feeders nemore . last time i got 3 dozen feeders from them and my tank got all f'ed up, even my gar got fin rot...

now that thier a little calmer with full bellies i noticed one of the tems' tail is short, not ragged, but like just rounded like and smaller......

u think its fin rot? shud i just let them settle in and hope it fixes itself?

their really cool little fish, watchin them pounce on the feeders a pack is amazing......way cool, i still might get one more of the occelaris/monos...

ya i need to pump them up to about 3 inches before i try them in the 100 gallon, they need to be about the same size as the goldfish to be safe.....

you should try getting feeders from a bait store... cheaper and better IMO...

I'd just let them settle in before adding chems for fin rot... Just watch it.

HEY GOOD SCORE POWER FEED SO THEY CAN EVENTULLY BE SOME NICE MONSTERS.... AGAIN GREAT BUY....:naughty: :cool-1:
