Hey guys

my country has just been put on lockdown due to the Coronavirus...
Unfortunately I am far away from home, in another province and I bought 2 fish before getting home in time...The fish are currently kept in a big plastic container with a filter and a heater..

Would they be fine while my country is on lockdown for 21 days??
I do have food for them and will do water changes

TIA

Is the filter new or an in use one?

If in use and just moving to the tote, should be fine.

If it's brand new then you will basically be doing a fish in cycling with your new fish. If this is the case I would see if you can get some used substrate from the tank the fish came from, or possibly some bio-rings, used filter cartridge to jump start the cycle.

The filter is used with water from an existing tank...The fish seem to be doing fine so far

They should do fine. Just make sure you keep up on water changes as able and provide good husbandry. The container will most likely go through a cycle being newer, but you should be fine.

Lockdown only starts tonight, unless you are stuck in which case I'd recommend lots of water changes. What fish are they?
