Thought someone might like to see these. I dug both of these (in different localities) in the vicinity of Yokosuka, Japan. One is an aquatic turtle from around the Miocene age. The other is a 15" Notosaur from the Jurassic period.

Very cool. Do you get to keep all these fossils Oddball? Do you need permission etc?

I found these fossils over 20 years ago. So, I guess I can keep them. And, I found them on an exchange tour between the US and Japanese Navies. A couple of locals were into digging and invited me along.

wow, the notosaur is very nice. i would love to have some real fossils but they are so expensive:irked:

lol. Just wondered if you needed permits or similar if you were to do this kinda thing now. I think over here you have to declare anything you find of any archeological value, guess it would be different in every nation though.

The Notosaur is impressive, and if you type it in google, your specimen is top of the list!

very cool indeed .... thanks for sharing phil. 15 inches for the Notosaur... man!

Love it....
