Im moving about a half hour away and have a couple questions

Will my bio media be fine to transport sealed in their canisters or should I crack the valves open for air?

I bought a rubbermaid container with locking latches will it be okay to latch this while transporting my fish?

thanks

It will be fine for both. For the fish, just be realistic in how many fish you put in there. You can buy a battery powered bubbler for six dollars at Walmart in the fishing section.

agreed except you will never need that bubbler. I moved 5.5 hours with no bubbler and had no problems. The motion of your car causes more surface agitation that any filter. For real long trips you may want to introduce more fresh air to the container however if its sealed.

thanks guys Im probally over analyzing the whole move its literally 20-30min down the road

you could put them in a bucket and walk with them at that distance

Definitely overanalyzing. :) The fish and the filter will be just fine. I've moved my fish several times with 5 gallon buckets...never lost a one.

I don't have very many fish that will fit in a five gallon bucket.

You might not, but if the OP is keeping clown loaches and sevs, like in his avatar, several 5 gals will work fine.

You can just move on over to rubbermaid trash cans or bins to move your lunkers.
