You can click on these for a larger version. No shots of the dovii tonight, sorry. The male, after swimming around for a couple of days, has taken to hiding out most of the day now. He is still eating well though. His color is getting better. The female is still hiding among the java moss (I hope). I haven't seen her since shortly after putting her in. But, there's lots of thick java moss in the back left. I'm sure she's probably terrified. The tiny little Texas is pretty bold, he's dug himself a hole at the base of the sword on the right and swims around a lot. He doesn't seem to be intimidated at all, even at 2 1/2" or so.

Most of all, I'd like to say thanks for this great forum. MFK is my constant inspiration and I appreciate the wealth of knowledge shared by you guys and gals. I love this place. :headbang2

awesome pics+set-up, what are the tank dimensions

wish it was easier to find the other parachromis species in AUS

Thanks. The tank is 8' long x 3' wide x 25" tall, 358 US Gallons. I've read it can be difficult for you guys down under to get hold of Parachromis. Other than managuense, it's not that easy for me either. None of the shops I frequent ever has anything other than jags. Cheers mate.:)

It's just Amazon Swords and Java Moss. I've never had problems with either. Especially the java moss, I really need to get rid of some. I don't do anything special for them. The fish do all the fertilizing I guess.:D

I've also got mangroves in my sump. I don't do anything special for these either, just florescent light.

It looks female to me. But, I'd like to see more orange/red on the face to be sure. What are you feeding?

Try some Hikari CichlidGold. It can help bring out the red.
