I have a 5" Fahaka and am getting an Mbu in a couple of weeks, but I imagine these questions apply to all puffers. How often do puffers need to eat shelled foods to keep the teeth trimmed? My Fahaka is getting about 25-30 MTS a week and around 20 inch long crawdads. He also gets tilapia filet daily. If he gets this much all his life will I ever need to trim his teeth? Would the same apply to the Mbu? I understand with size I will be going with adult crawdads and clams / mussels.
My other question is, in pictures I almost never see puffers with their tails fanned out. Today my Fahaka did it twice. (never saw it before) Does this indicate anything? Stress, happiness.....?
