I got two African Pike today and wondering what YOU have experience as far as growth rate and ease of getting off of live. Mine are 3" now tank temp 82-84 and 50% WC every other day thanks :D

fairly easy to get of live. mine eat market shrimp, live and pellets. growth is from 3 inches will be quick if u have a decent size tank 90 plus gals. i grew 3.5 inchers to 8 inches in about 4 months, they have now stopped growing. viscious predators and easy to keep. all those water changes unecessary imo.

I've never owned one but from first hand experiences from other people they eat almost anything,Grow fast in a larger tank, And are skittish but not too skittish and can be very aggressive at times.

I have had one for just over a year. He was around 4-5 inches when I got him he is now abiut 10 inches. I feed him thawed silversides. He is in a 65 gal.(4' x 1.5') long by himself and weekly water changes keep the water great.

I have 3 of them in 150 gal tank (576 litres). They eat frozen food from the beginning (6-7''), now they are about 10 inches. they are in low-tech planted tank without water changes and look healthy and pretty happy. Only bigger one is sometimes little aggressive.

Yup they will get up to 8-10 inches fairly fast and then slow down a ton. They seem to only get 10-12 inches in captivity. Mine always liked frozen silversides and krill.

They also have a very short life span around 5 years and they are bubble nest breeders if I am not mistaken
