couple of questions about my jd

what size tank is he in and what are the parameters? sounds like there's something wrong with either him or the water
he is in a 30 gal tank for now. he will do it for about 30 seconds and always at night when i turn off the all the other lights besides the tank light then after doing all of thar he will either swim around like normal or go back in his cave. as i am typing this now he is rubbing his side against the gravel.
okay well that answers the less important question, what is your water quality? ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, Ph, etc. - Also that tank will be too small for a full grown JD but i'm assuming you already know that because you said he's in it 'for now'

yea he is a little over a year old now and hasn't grown much in the past couple of months. but when and if he gets bigger i will put him in a 55 gallon tank. as far as all the other stuff thats all greek to me. i have never checked that stuff and haven't lost a fish yet knock on wood unless ole jack decides he doesn't like them.
