i have a 90g tank w/a 4-5" midas, 4-5" jd, 4-5" jaguar, 3-4" carpintis, 3-4" convict, 1-2" carpinitis and 1-2" beani ... i've had all of these fish since they were 1-2" juveniles in this tank and it's now becoming pretty obvious that the midas is the dominant fish in the tank (no fin nippage, alpha (male) behavior although not super obvious that he/she is that aggressive yet). here are my two questions:

1) can i keep any of these other fish w/the midas as he/she continues to grow? it is a standard 90g tank and if fish don't have loneliness issues, that would be great to know.

2) the beani hasn't eaten in the past 36 hours and is hanging out in the top corner of the tank. the fins don't appear nipped, but the beani is clearly listless. what can i do to save it?

thanks for advice. mike

your midas is the only one which will decide what can live with it. Try to closely observe how the fish are interacting, which will give you more insite on what needs to be done. It comes down to your call

I would say you need a bigger tank for the long run. And beani will need to be moved into own tank. The beani is just as hard to raise as haitiensis. And being that its difficult to raise, rare, and the most expensive fish in your tank I would give it special attetion and care. Good luck
