Couple Questions About Spotted Puffers

Hi everyone, i have a couple of questions about what might of happened to my spotted puffer. last night when i went to bed my puffer fish was swimming around but this morning i turned on his light and was gone. i spent around 15 minuets looking for him but there was no sign of him. i was wondering if he could have gotten completely sucked up in to the filter (opening is about a fourth of a centimeter). or could he have dug himself into the gravel or jumped out. tell me what you think might have happened.

(10 gallon tank, no other tank mates)

It doesn't sound like he could have fit in the filter. If he's missing I'd guess he jumped out. Do you have a cat or dog?

do you have any decorations in the tank? i have had fish swim into rocks or caves and be stuck..?

Have you looked all over the floor? Is there a cover on the tank?
