My payara. He was reluctant to eat at first (he had an injury on his jaw that could have been the problem), but after a little salt treatment and about a week he's eating rosy reds like a champ. The speed he hits them with is crazy.

The rosy reds for the payara were supposed to be too big for the pbass, but I guess he didn't agree. They were about 2/3-3/4 the length of him.

They were a little big for the geo too. He munched on this guy for a while. These geos have a crazy feeding response.

you mean the bass ate the payara?

No no no... I would have flipped. The payara is bigger than the pbass. The pbass ate the payara's feeders.

That is one full bass you have there. Awesome!

Nice fish!!!

oh lol you'd have to watch out though, payaras are slow growers.

Yeah, he's had a pretty good head start. They'll be separated though once the pbass gets to about the same length as him. I'll probably end up keeping him in his own tank as his needs are different than the rest of the fish - see if I can get him past the 12" death mark.

but many people have trouble growing them very much past the one foot range in the aquarium. It is possible though, as some people on this site have proof. I'm hoping that with a little tlc my guy can too.
