Its a shame that those snakes are being exposed to injury and ailment by being fed live food.Frozen/ thawed is safer and more beneficial to the reptile by eliminating parasitic infestation in the prey along with physical damage incurred from prey bites.

i thought that the acid in their stomachs breaks down everything including bone and nutralizes pasasites, or is that just the little snakes that get affected by pasasites?

mites and ticks... when the snake constrict the prey... the mite and ticks might hop on to the snakes... that is why you should becareful when you buy your mice and rats... some LFS are very dirty...
