Finally dusted off the camera this weekend to get some nice shots of some tanks. Unfortunately my best friend still has my external flash, so I had to use on-board, but they turned out decent!
Bought a batch of 6 carpintis escondido from Rapps back in the summer of 2004. Unfortunately, the male killed his mate last May. He's become an outgoing beast lately! He's about 10" or so, give or take.
And this is my male festae that was ordered from Rapps back in April 2006. He's about 8", maybe a little larger. His hobbies include beating the snot out of his mate. And eating like a pig. I sold his female this evening, I just didn't want things to end up with her being dead (was GOING to happen if she stayed in the divided tank). This guy's colors vary greatly. From very prominent bars (when spawning) to bland...and to this:
