That was my female dempsey. Se died oh, almost 5 years ago now? My first cichlid ever. Got her when I was 16 I think. She actually came from PetsMart.

Best female dempsey I have seen, hands down. 
Thanks. She was pretty awesome. Lost her when I moved out of my parents at 18 and didn't keep up on the water changes. Bred her a few times with a male I rescued from the LFS I worked at, first cichlid owned and bred I guess.

i got mine last year, when i was 15.
i haven't figured out yet if it's a female or male though, hard to tell.
but it's a great fish, first of two fish i got.
i had a firemouth and the dempsey.
the firemouth got bit by an aro lol and then a pleco finished it off haha.
it was a nice firemouth though.
my dempsey i'm going to keep for a long time, it's about 8".
moved up in the fish world since last year i guess.
once you have to care for the fish, you start getting addicted lol.
