I noticed after I put my new african knife in the tank that it has a couple white spots. Now I've seen it flashing a couple times.
So far, the heater has been turned up a bit.

Its just a couple visible spots. Should I just raise the heater and wait? I don't have a convenient way to quarantine.
The other fish in the tank are: Congo tetras, african butterfly fish, bichirs, reedfish.

I've read that african knifefish should be treated as scaleless fish.

you are correct, they are scalleless fish, ive never had to medicate mine but id wait for some expert opinion, they can be very sensetive to meds, hope someone can help, just dont do anything until you are SURE its the correct thing

I'm just going to be waiting it out. My tank is healthy and I have an 18w UV sterilizer.

If I see more than one or two additional spots it'll be time to start real treatment.

I would add a small amount of aquarium salt as well. I don't remember if they are truly scaleless or if they have tiny scales. If anything, add a Tablespoon for every 10g.
