i have a 6 inch Jaguar, recently my g/f got me another Jaguar, this ones 7.5 inches. my original Jag(6-er) started acting weird. he twitches his head and uses his abdomen to dig up gravel with a swimming motion while flaring his bottom jaw whenever he's around the larger female. she then goes into the flowerpot and he follows.this goes on ALL day, they dont lip lock, he apparently has dominance over her, forcing her to get into the flowerpot by flaring his gills. can anyone explain this peculiar ike and tina turner-esque behavior? though i've done alot of research, textbooks and mags never go into detail such as that of life experince, so im not afraid to ask for help, so ANY suggestions would be wonderful --as well as ANY texts books you know of, thanks!:nilly:

Just leave them, it's natural behavior. I feel safe to say that you will probably have eggs in that very pot in a couple days. Fish don't drive fancy cars, or have the flyest cloths. so they attract the female by showing how tough they are. As long as he doesn't turn too violent, your ok.

oh no,i wasn't gonna separate them, or anything like that, the guy is far too small to do any damage, that was evident when i first introduced her to the tank and he kept pounding on her. he doesn't really "hit" her per se, but controls her, i was just curious about this behavior, but I hope you're right about the eggs,I bred everthing else i had, and i want JAGUAR BABIES!!!
