I recently add a tiny female sajica to an established tank which is home to dominant 5 inch male sajica and instantly his behaviour changed.

Now I have never had any fish breed and know very little about breeding fish full stop but I am not sure if what I witnessed was courting behaviour. The male instantly started swiming at odd angles around the female and chased any other fish that got close. He was tail slapping her a lot (of which she seemed to like) and would occasionally 'pounce' after her. Whenever he wasnt doing this she would try tail slapping him and nipping his sides to get his attention. The thing is she is tiny in comparison to him!!

Would this be breeding behaviour? If so what should I provide them with I.e. a cave, flat rock etc.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Yup... I would say its a go. There's really only 2 types of attention... Courting and aggression. The tail slapping and swimming around her in odd angles is a sure sign of him saying I likes lol. If it was a no he would be biting at her and she would be getting chased all over the tank. So yes, get them a cave, rock, or pot for them to do what they do. Good luck!
