Ok so I've had my senegal for about a week now and have noticed that he is capable of observing things above the water level. My tank is 95% covered excluding 2 small areas where the filters hang. Should I be worried about him crawling out of the tank? I have noticed him eyeballing those areas, am I cooking with fire here? Anyone have experience with this?

What I did is put tape over the gap between the filter and the tank lid just to be safe. My oscar taught me that if there's even a small hole, a fish will get through.

Yep I use tape, chicken wire, (just cuz I had it sitting around and helps with more support) and rocks!

Thanks guys, I'm going to tape it up just to be safe

whenever my bichirs escape i club them and teach em a lesson, i show the other bichirs in the tank what i did to the one who escaped and i never had that problem again

LMAO, I hope this is a joke!

I got some of those fake rug plants from the LFS and cut it to fit the gaps and they stick into the water a bit too!!

mine hasnt offered to jump out yet.. he normally hits the top of the lid once in awhile.. i have a 2 open spots between the filters, but i've covered it up.
