What is the best material you have found to make an inexpensive cover for your 300+ gal glass or plywood tank.. The factory glass tops get expensive as you go up in tank size.

Links, pics would be appreciated

Plexy + some plastic hinges =]

You can score Plexy and cut to fit very easy.

Lowes sells thin/cheap glass that will work for tops, w/o the sagging issues that acrylic is known for. Wouldn't use it w/fish that are known jumpers though, since it is thin.

What about sagging and heat from lamps? Not sure I understand your links shows a std glass top pic?

Is the glass tempered ? There are some large fish going in that could easily knock off a std glass lid....

Anyone else?
