Covering metal stand

I'm looking for some ideas for covering a metal stand. My parents don't like how it looks, and don't like the idea of covering it with a piece of fabric.

If you look in my albums there should be a pic of our tanks,the stands are made from box section steel by myself and ive fitted kitchen cupboard doors and end panels and i think it looks great,all the doors open by the way.
