I got a quick question! I have a 150 gallon with glass lids so the whole back of the tank is open, I don't have any HOB filters so everything is open. How do you guys cover this space. Right now I'm using saran wrap but it looks really tacky. I heard someone say they use chicken wire but not sure how well that works or how to put it on back there.

Thanks.

Use the white plastic florescent lighting grates. You can get a 3x6 sheet at HD for like 10 buck and you can easily cut it to size.

What is the purpose of the cover to be?
Evaporation and splashing control?
Keeping "jumpers" in the tank?

replacement plastic made for your lids are fairly cheap, personally I believe your better paying$20 and doing it right than paying $10 To rig it

The main purpose is to keep jumpers in, I just got my first bichir a couple days ago so just making sure there's no holes for him to get out. Stopping the evaporation would be a plus though.

OK, then I would forget the egg crate.
Too thick and pretty spendy for the small amount you would use and you would probably want to paint it.
Plexi has a bad habit of absorbing water and bowing.
Cheap to buy and easy to work with though.
If you don`t mind flipping it over every other day that could be your answer.
I usually use glass.
When you get it from Lowes they will cut it to size for you, or you can cut it yourself.
Really easy to do.
