Today at work we got in a 10" cow goby, but cant find much information on them. Any of you guys ever owned one or know anything about em? One site says they get up to about 17" or so, and by the looks of him he will consume almost any tank mate.

They are awesome fish. Very personable and quiet. I don't know how big they REALLY get, but a foot is typically seen. They eat fish, yes, but mine have been peaceful towards other large fish when I had them.

It might be. I never kept mine with anything other than other big fish, never a "skinny" one, so I'm not sure. But honestly, I think the bichir would be tough enough to get away. But... I would say it's a risk.
I just noticed your location - Is the fish at Pet City in NH? They get the cow gobies in now and then. The owners are great people.

If you are talking about Eleotris Picta Then yes 17" is not far off for a 10" specimen.. My buddy has one that leterally has SHOULDERS!!!! Now... He is at the 15-17" mark easily!!

And has tried to eat a 6" Oscar didn't survive.. And 2 12" Clown Knives who it was quarentined from and is now back in the tank with them and fine.. But He is An awesome example of unpredictability :)
