Crabs as food for Oscars?

I live in New Zealand and we have millions of small crabs that live under rocks in our coastline. What I was wondering is would these crabs be a good snacks for hungry Oscar's? They are marine crabs but would that matter? I was thinking maybe spike them to stop any pincing then straight in the tank? Most are around 2-4 cm in size. Any thoughts much appreciated!

Some feed their Oscars Crayfish so personally don't see anything wrong with feeding the small Crabs.

It can be fed. Use it as an occasional snack. Thiaminase has been found in shellfish/crustaceans but not sure about new expand crabs.

As a occasional snack it's ok, just give em a whack with a machete.

That'd work,even a hammer (btw you know your a true fish keeper if you run around a beach with a hammer looking for fish food)
