Crack in bottom frame?

I have a 40g breeder and there is a crack in the lower tank frame. What do you guys think in terms of using it as is, or trying to find a way to fix it or to just replace the entire frame?

I would prefer to fix it myself if you guys think it would be good enough for a 40g tank.

When you say frame, Im assuming that your talking about the black piece that goes around the edge of the tank? If so, I would say use it as long as the crack is not on the glass itself. Use some epoxy for good measure. Just be sure to not get any of it in the tank..

Correct, the crack is on the corner of the lower frame/brace. The guy I bought it from tonight said he didn't notice it, and that it held water, and he felt so bad for not taking a closer inspection that he gave me the tank for free and I just paid for the stand.

Well at least you got a free tank out of it I definitely wouldnt worry too much about it. I would just be sure to add some type of glue to ensure that nothing goes wrong

Oh and he also threw in a mag 3 pump for my troubles - cause the tank is drilled with overflow.

That's pretty common on glass tanks. I wouldn't worry too much about it, especially on a 40 gal tank
