What type would be best? I really like the red-eye tree frog.

Its has a screen cover and i have a dripper, fake plants and stuff. I also have a 10 gallon light fixture.

heres some question, what more do I need?

Subtrate, What kind? DO they need uvb or just regular light? Heat?

if this does not work, would a pak man frog work?

Well uvb isnt rlly good for them so incandescent wld be ok. A 10 gallon wld be ok u need a screen top so he dont climb out. U need 60-70% humidity so a dripper and u need to spry 2 times a week if u dont get a dripper. 75-80 degrees during the day wld be ok but 70-75 wld be alrite for nite time. Orchid bark wld be ok or potting soil.

i already have a cover and dripper, i would need like a heat lamp or something to keep it that hot.

well heat bulbs tend to dry things out. And they need it humid. So a heatmat mite work depending on the substrate. and humidity tends to raise temperatures too

SO regular potting soil would be ok for substrate? My house is kept at 66. i would have a stardard fish light over it? Should I get a under tank heat mat?

Well set it up how u plan and c if it meets the standards. I was thinking of doing like 2-3 inches of potting soil if u wanted plants then like 1-2inches of orchid bark on top. They will need a water dish that needs cleaned out daily. U mite want more ppls opinion on this. People run it diffrently probly ericIvins if u cld contact him he wld rlly help u alot more then i can

could carnivorous plants go in there?

U mean like a venus fly trap? I think it wld be able to just watch it doesnt bit the frogs legs and u wld have to feed extra crickets or wht u want to feed.

carnivorous would work. IF! you know how to grow them, they can be VERY difficult. But if you already grow some then yes it would work. I just wouldnt do a sundew or butterwort as they would get your frog sticky and dirt would stick to him. If you if you dont grow any already dont even try. I would suggest pothos, or devils ivy.

try spring peepers. You can keep a colony of about 10 in that tank. They look great and you can hear them on different levels of the house. They get about an inch long so tehy need very small crickets, but they are very rewarding. I keep mine in a 5 gallon paludarium with pothos and 2 bromeliads.
