Greetings,
This is my first post, so hopefully I don't mess it up to bad.

I purchased a used 75 gal tank, stand, and parts from someone about 1 - 2 years ago. He was getting rid of because he it was worm infested and his fish all died, and he was tired of two tanks. He said it held water and it looked in good shape for the price. I had a 38Gal, but 2 house moves ago an unsecured beam in the garage fell on it, and a 4 x 4 x 12 vs. a glass tank, well you know who won that one, good news was that the beam was not injured in the fall. After the fall the beam vs. me, the beam lost.

I'm finally getting around to setting it up and have been reading the forums lately. I noticed last night, after a couple night of cleaning the glass and trim, that the corner has a crack in the trim. It's the bottom trim and on what will be the back, and all the way through. It's been sitting in the garage and on the back porch empty. It may have been cracked to start with or I may have done it. At this point it doesn't matter, it's cracked.

I've included a couple of pictures and would appreciate any advice. And just ask if you need better pictures or more information.

I did fill with a couple inches with water last night to clean/rinse it out and didn't see any leaks then drained it since it's on the back porch and still freezing at nights.

It's going inside in the living room so leaking is not an option. The bottom is tempered glass. I was thinking about just putting epoxy on it, but how well will epoxy really bond to the hard plastic, even if I rough it up? Epoxy it and then epoxy something over that, a brace? Try and find new trim for it?

It is going to be on the back side and against the wall so that's a plus.

Thanks in advance for any idea's

i bought a used 3' 50gal tank that has all 8 of the corner bracing completly split. i resealled the tank (old silicone was in bad shape), and just left the bracing as is. i havn't had any problems with it, but it may be up to your discresion.

is that just the trim that,s broken ? or the glass too ?

if it is just the trim i would just use some wood filler or putty and rough up around it and then re-stain that area.

if the glass has a crack then you will need to replace it.

missed the part of it being plastic and yes epoxy will stick to plastic but that seems like an expensive solution to a small crack maybe a small tube of marine goop or super glue would be the best bang for the buck.
