so my 55g which is currently cycling right now seems to have cracks on the frame in the front 2 corners on the bottom. Its not leaking or anything but im scared it'll just collapse on me in the long run....should i take it down and try to fix it? or will i be ok?

Also how would i fix this since its only the frame that seems to be cracked?

Thanks,

Xyl

edit: Sorry if this is in the wrong section >_<

do you mean the black framing that runs around the bottom of the tank? if thats cracked it shouldn't be a big deal.. I've seen them with rimless bottoms.

yeah! that one!...so i should be ok? im jus scared the tank will just one day fall apart or something.

thanks for the help CJB =)

i have couple cracks on my 55gall and so far it isnt a problem at all and i have it running for more then a year
dont worry about it

Yeah you're good to go. If it bothers you astethically, then you can fix it somehow, but if not just leave it. ;)

i had some of those around the top and bottom of my 125........b4 i filled it up i took some silicone and filled in the cracks to keep them from spreading apart when i put H2o in it.......don't think it would have hurt anythin to leave them alone but i don't like the idea of all that water just rushin out onto my floor. as long as it's not the glass and the corner seams are ok you should be good

thanks for the input guys! im sort of the clumsy type who usually tends to get things wet more often than they need to...so i dont really wanna end up getting the carpet wet again this month :D. Believe it or not...just last week i was prepairing to drain my tank and lead one end of the hose outside. I started draining for about a good 5 minutes sucking up poop and whatever was floating around. I mounted the hose in the tank and turned around to get something and it turns out i grabbed the SHORTER hose and all the water i drained was right behind me all over the carpet! So im trying to be as cautious as i can :D

But anyways thanks for all you guys' help! now i dont have to take the tank down and let it finish its cycle :D

As long as the center brace isn't cracked on the top, you will be fine.
