hey what's up i just got this damn tank yesterday 8'2'2 glass and i got a couple different cracks in it help me out pleez i would really appreciate it Also i live on cape cod if any one is good with glass and would like to come and check out the tank and see if they would be able to help me out i would gladley pay you for you'r time let me know ok so here's what cracked on this sob the first pics are of the top left corner not on the front glass piece but of the support glass piece that goes around the top of the tank it has a crack that goes all most all the way to the front piece of glass but the front peice is not broke only the support piece on top and only the top support not the one under it that runs down the side of the tank to the back of the tank.
the next pics are of the right side of the tank the crack is in the bottom of the tank along the side that goes from the front to the back of the tank the crack is directly under the support peice that is on the inside of the tank around the edge and the support glass is not cracked there but you can see is crack in the front the front piece that runs from right to left but the bottom is not cracked there. and there is a chip out of the bottom of the tank right were that crack is on the out side edge of the tank on the bottom take a look at these pics and let me know what you think there the best i could get if they don't up load pleez tell me a good way to do it or i can email them to some one and if they could post them for me that would be great thanks for you'r time i greatley appreciate it. From the pics, it looks like it is only the bracing but your story tells something different. If it is just the bracing, then you can just cut the braces out and re-silicone new braces in.

HEy tank buster the euro brace is all thats broke on the top of the tank but on the bottom of the tank on the right side the actuall bottom of the tank is cracket through but the brace on top of it is not so it doesn't go all the way in to the tank. but there is also that nast chip on the bottom to but it also doesn't got through the hole sheet so i don't know what's up i have no idea how to fix it this is the first large tank i ever had

Thanks for you'r time

Well this is easier than a side being cracked, the bottom piece should not be supporting the weight of the tank, if it si, that may be why you have alot of these issues. I would suggest taking off all the bracing, then replace the top, of course cleaning off all the old silicone. The you have to flip the tank over, hahahahaha, sorry... Cut out the bootom bracing bfore you flip it by the way, then cut out the bottom piece and replace with and exact same size piece. It is alot easier to replace the bottom glass. The sides are the most difficult. Go to Garf.org I believe it is and there are tips on how to repair glass tanks. this si as much info as I can provide. Caoe Cod is the best place on earth as far as I am concerned by the way. I grew up in Mass, and my dad had 2 cottages down there for us in the summer. Harwich and the other was in Chatham.

thanks tank buster for you response but i'm not personally skilled enough to cut the glass out and replace it i was thinking on the lines of being able to just put a new peice over it or something i don't know and i don't really care what it looks like i just want it to hold water and not flood my basement any ways thanks again for you'r time.

If you can use a utility knife, you can cut it out. You dont want to cover up the cracks. You need to find out why the happened so that it wont happen again. There may be some stress somewhere and that caused them, unless it was dropped.
