hey guys I have been planning on getting a bigger tank and was going to get a brand new one and what not but then I found this ad on kijiji
the tank is 125g which is right up my ally but the guy says there is a small crack in it
so i was wondering if I took two pieces of acrylic and used aquarium silicone or adhesive to attach the acrylic on each side of the crck filling in the crack and covering it

he is asking 300 but I doubt he'll get that so ill offer 100 for it

if I couldnt do the above how much would it cost to replace the pane of glass

replacing the entire pane would be much safer, but you could patch it. It you decide to patch I would use pieces of glass, not acrylic because silicon does not stick to acrylic very well.

i have to agree $300 is WAY to much for a tank with a crack in it. I payed $270 for my brand new 125. anyway about patching the crack, from what i've read its much better and safer to replaces the whole panel.

I would just go for the new one...the consequences are just to serious for something like that wrong. Maybe it it was a cracked lining but not in the actual tank itself

Which pane is cracked? Front, back, side, or bottom?

man I wish i lived in the states everything is so much cheaper for a 125 new its easily 500 just the tank 55's are 200 and 10's are around 30
those are prices for just the tanks

Road trip.....!!

Don't buy a cracked tank.... who knows how it got cracked in the first place and problems that are not apparent now may show up later...
