  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yeah i have siliconed it and partially filled it with water for my turtles. that was a few years ago. i would never trust it completely filled. just wanted to see if anyone ever did fix a crack.

wrong forum;)

I have seen bottom plates fixes and a side panel replaced, where is the crack?

I fixed a old slate bottom 55Gal with silicone an 3/16" plexiglass, if the crack is on one of the sides, front or back I wouldnt chance it an just buy a new tank.

the crack is on the backside of the tank. lower left corner. its a c shaped crackit starts at the side piece where it buts up and ends at the bottom piece. its a shame. its a 125g but its useless to me if it can't hold water.

This is glass right?
Measure the panel including thickness and buy a new one, then as hardboiled says just use a razor to cut out the old piece, scraped off the remaining silicone and wash the area with white vinegar then silicon the new panel into place. You can hold it in place while it cures with cloth tape or strap vises. Follow the instuctions on the tube as for how long to cure it before use, should be much cheaper than buying a new tank and you can reseal the other seams at the same time.
