cracked the base of tank. can it be repaired?

hi,
i cracked the base of a 6'x2'x2' while cleaning it prior to setting it up.
the crack runs about two thirds the length of the base.
lesson learned . . . . . . make sure the base it is sitting on is level and solid!!!!!!!!!!
my question is
can i repair it by patching it with another sheet of glass and silicone on the inside?
or must i do it right and replace the whole bottom pane???

i would just replace it its not worth having a huge *** puddle on your floor
