Figured I'd post this here, cause I've seen one or two posts about it in the past, but it still worries me, and figure more will have the same question. So I emptied one of my 75gal glass tanks the other day to make room for a larger tank, and moved it out to the garage. A few days later we had a huge cold freeze, and I must have had some moisture up under a portion of the top frame cause I went out in the garage last night, and just happened to notice several cracks in the frame in one spot. What are some peoples thoughts on stability, and does this need to be fixed, or should it be fixed? etc,etc... any and all thoughts and ideas are welcome (I think ;))

Frames are cheap at a independent shop that will order them in for you. I just did a set on a AllGlass 55g and on a Perfecto 90g(48x18). The 55g frames ran about $16ea(1 top, 1 bottom) and the 90g were about $25ea.

It only takes about an hour or so to replace the top and bottom frames. Slide a small putty knife in between the frame and the glass and drag/pull it from one end to the other to cut the silicone, repeat as needed. Then start working the old frame off. Clean the glass well and install the new frames with some silicone.

what about stability of the tank w/water?
