I've discovered a crack in the bottom of my 180 and I've got no idea what to do about it. It's about 1.5" and traveled from the edge of the glass to the bulkhead hole, meaning it won't travel any further. I'm just wondering if its safe to leave the set up be or if I'm going to have to break the tank down and patch it somehow.

Any suggestions/comments welcome.

Thank You

Don't just try and silicone over the crack! It will fail eventually.

I have a 180 that cracked, it was larger though (abt 8"), also in the bottom. I had a piece of glass cut that covers about 1/3 of the bottom and then siliconed it in. Took the plastic framing off the bottom and have it resting directly on styrofoam on the stand. It has been about 2 years and no leaks (knock on wood). You could also replace the whole bottom pane but it starts to lose any cost effectiveness.

People will tell you not to patch it at all, but if you do it right then it's possible. That all being said, I didn't have to deal with a bulkhead opening so that definitely makes it trickier. Good luck.
