So I have this friend who wants to buy a 75 gal and the guy selling it said there is a crack on the bottom, near the silicone seam. I have not personally seen it, but he said it was not large and it is "stable". I thought it was risky, but what do you think? Is the bottom strong enough to support the weight?

I wouldn't trust it

After he buys the stable tank with the crack in the bottom tell him to give me a call I have a bridge I bought a few years ago that I want to sell, its in good condition light wear and tear I call it the Brooklyn.

thanks for the replies! Can you ever even fix those types of cracks (on the bottom)?

I have a crack on my bottom too. Don't you?

ohhhhh....we were talking about aquariums??? sorry

Seriously though, I wouldn't risk it. It's not worth it.

I have a crack at the bottom of my tank but it is acrylic. I sealed it with another piece of acrylic. I am not 100 percent sure but personally wouldn't take my chance with a crack in bottom of glass. I have always heard that the bottom of glass tanks are the strength and I crack definitely compromises that strength.
