Craft store plants

I have heard a few people saying they are buying artificial plants from craft stores such as michaels. Is there a way to know if these plants are aquarium safe? I like the idea but would hate to kill my fish trying to get cheAp plants. Any ideas appreciated.

Just dont get any that contain metal wiring or parts that could rust. You could also try some low light plants and not worry about it bein fish safe

It just seems like they might use chemicals on the plants that could leach into the water.

I have this vine type fake plant in a 90 gal.from ac moore or micheals.no problems. I would say if has strong plastic smell then avoid it.if you see metal on the stem, put aquarium sealant on it
