On one hand, you find the amazing deals and freebies. It's a win-win situation as you get some cool fish, and the previous owners free up tank space.

On the other hand, you find people unable to properly care for fish asking for freebies. For instance, this guy: http://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/pet/568349968.html
He goes on to brag that the oscar came with his freebie tank. Anyone can see that the oscar needs a larger tank immediately. He'll probably get a batch of free guppies and wake up the next morning posting for more fish because all of his guppies magically disappeared.

Your thoughts on this?

It can be sad and a pain sometimes but I think the good far outweighs the bad.

Don't really like Craigslist. Only because there is never anything posted on my local site. OK, NEVER may be an exaggeration, should say never anything I want. The Upper Peninsula Craigslist hasn't really been discovered yet by most Yoopers. The few tanks I've seen on it are outrageously overpriced ($300 for a 29 gallon set up!)

I cruise the Green Bay, WI ads. Maybe I'll find something worth the 3 hour drive.

I like it though sometimes it's hard to deal with people over there....got very good deals form it and found a high paying job for my friend from there too:).

I love it. Just picked up a 240g on craigs list and I am grinning from ear to ear becuase of it.

i got a 90 and 110 both full setups but no stands for 85$ and then i traded the 110 straight up for a 240 so i cant complain :D
