Guys asking $450 for the 125g leaker, Glass lids, stand, and canopy. Doesn't trust doing a reseal himself so getting rid of it.

I don't think this is a deal lol. I've seen 125 tank and stand for 400$. And they weren't leaking.

yeah sounds pretty high for a leaking tank. MY LFS sells these used for 2-300 dollars with canopy and stand. Thy recently had a very nice looked brand new but was sold as used 90 gallon for 225. Stand and canopy included and also lights. They had a Hang on filter they said they would throw in as well.

Look at this a 210 gallon tank with a sump with two pumps for 700 without negotiation. I bet hell sell the fish with it...lol

It could be worth it if that stand and canopy is solid wood, but since its a leaker I would steer clear of it completely. A leaker means the seal between glass pane is compromised which could mean a potential time bomb

I figured that as long as the stand was solid and didn't get rotten before they realized what was going on it would be worth it. A reseal is no big deal. Well for some of us. I've done it before successfully and all I did was watch a 3 minute YouTube video and figured out what off the shelf silicone to use that didn't cost $10/oz lol. I know there are other deals out there. The used tank market by me is high in Indy. Hardly ever come across a deal. Or it's an ok price but it's all old gear ready to be replaced. Best deal I ever got round here was 125g and a full 50ft Python set up for $100.

I resealed my 180, which was in pretty bad shape when I bought it. I took the chance because it only cost me $100, and even though the silicone bead were nearly all disintegrated or non-existent, there was no leakage. $10 worth of GE silicone 1, and its been a non issue for the past 2.5 years. However, if it leaked initially, I wouldn't have bother resealing it. Its just too much of a risk with a tank of this size. I've just read too many accounts of tank seams just one day giving out without warning

I concur that there are many cases where seams have let loose, but from my knowledge that can happen to a resealed tank or a tank that never leaked and just popped one day. We all run the risk of water on the floor either way. I've fixed leaky tanks before and to my knowledge they're all still holding water except one that a guy dropped.
