CRAIGSLIST GAR -- florida or alligator?

and it looks pretty fat for a florida ...

but i will leave it up to the experts, what is this guy? (besides a GREAT deal!)
i will probably get him either way if the guy emails me back

It looks exactly like a Florida Alligator gar to me. But at 15" he is going to get a LOT bigger. and yes, this is a GREAT deal!

Hard to say for sure by the pics but I would say Shortnosed or Florida. Definitely pick him up..If it's a short that has lived that long he is likely a keeper...

Your right, he is not really an alligator gar. I see these gars everyday in Florida. There are 20 of them with-in a half mile of my house. Most of them are less than 2 feet long.

I was just mixing the Florida/Alligator with a Smiley Face, because we have Alligator Gars in our Florida Bayous, but this one does look like the Florida Gars (Spots and all) that I see here everyday.
