Over the rainbow
A month ago i tried adding a group of guppies with my rhom and that did not go so well, in a matter of 3 days all the guppies were eaten. A week ago I went camping in delaware river and i caught about 8 small crayfish. I wanted to see what would happen if i added them to my piranha tank. Its been day 7 and all 8 crayfish are still there. I think i might've found a potential tankmate for my piranha. =] I couldn't get a pic of the piranha and the cray fishes together so heres two seperate pictures.

I tried this at one point but it only lasted about a month. Good luck

and I hope those crayfish didn't carry any parasites or you had quarantined them

My RBPs used to get those as a treat. I would drop them in the tank at night and pick out any shells left in the morning. I would be shocked if that lasted too long. He probably just doesn't realize that there's a chewy center under the crunchy exterior.

lol

yeah i don't think it's going to last too long freshwater crabs like what HarleyK has with his pirayas are better as they are smaller and move faster (ie they can avoid piranhas much better) crayfish are going to get picked apart VERY fast

I think they are very nutritious. Assuming they don't carry some parasite, it's a no-lose situation.

hopefully them aren't big enough to do any damage with those claws.
