In search of Leiarius
I will have a breeding pair of cajun dwarfs coming in the next two weeks, i got them two little rock caves water is hard . what is the best inexpensive diet for these crays. tank is sponge filtered 10 gallon sand / small gravel substrate. tak mates would be mts and a trapdoor or two.

Pick up a pack of Hikari Sinking Pellets. It provides them a rather balanced diet. You'll still need to provide them with other sources of nutrients though (eggs shells/cuttlebone, veggies/plants, meat, etc), but for a base diet, that one is pretty good for them.

hikari is quite pricy here, is their anything that can be bougnt in bulk for the price a individual package.

Oh really? It's rather cheap here. Hmm, check out some of Ken's stuff: http://www.kensfish.com/ He's even got Invert foods with Calcium supplements added, good for crays. But you can buy large quantities fairly cheaply from him, and his food comes highly recommended.

i'm curious about this too, i had wild caught crays but they were usually just babies. i never fed them anything, they just ate flakes and pellets that sunk to the bottom and were pretty much a clean up crew.
