Hey I was reading the information in the stickies and noticed that most if not all the crayfish mentioned are aggressive/territorial. Since cichlids too are aggressive, could they be housed together?

Or would one torment/kill the other..

Someone would die. I've had Orconectes and Cambarus crayfish catch and kill fish their own size, and even Procambarus will tear fins of large fish and kill smaller fish. The cichlids on the other hand might harrass the crayfish, pull their limbs off, or kill them when they are molting; this is how centrarchids treat crays, and SA/CA cichlids have pretty similar attitudes and behaviors to centrarchids.

Now, if you had a gigantic tank with lots of structure, you could probably keep both, but not in a typical home aquarium.

Ah alright. Yeah I've been wondering about this for a while, thanks for the answer
