Could i put crayfish together in one tank if i put lots of hidding places... Tubes rocks etc??

I was thinking of running to a stream and getting llike 10 small crays and starting a colony in a 10g tank...Hoping they will bread and have babies for the oscar and parrots

Will this work out?

I've heard a 10g is only good for one adult but I dont have any personal experience with them other than use as food for my poly's. Def a 10g won't be good for a colony like you are wanting. I've heard they will fight and rip each others claws off.

I got three babies out of my creek at the beginning of this year. I'm keeping them in a 10 gallon. They seem to be very tolerant of each other. Depending on what species you have a breeding pair might work out. Some can get pretty aggressive, though.

crayfish are pretty territorial so I wouldn't do it in a ten gallon. Maybe as young but not as adults. It also depends on the species.

if you kept a pair in a 10g most likely which ever one moulted first would be eaten first.

i wouldn't want to put more than one adult in a ten gallon. i would probably hesitate on a 20g too. they will pinch each others claws off after molting, unless they are hungry then one may be lunch.
